  Everyone is welcome at our monthly meetings.  We discuss all things EV, occasionally have speakers, and show our electric vehicles to folks.

  The City of Takoma Park is hosting an Earth Day event on April 26 (27 rain
  date)In honor of Earth Month, the City of Takoma Park will host a celebration in the Sligo Creek Stream Valley Park.

  This event will feature several tables and tents set up alongside the park’s pathway and in close proximity to the new playground at Houston and Kennebec Ave. The park and playground are a popular weekend spot for families with children and residents of all ages, and the aim is to provide educational resources, materials, and activities to educate the public about the importance of sustainability and the available programs from the City of Takoma Park and surrounding area.

  The Bruce-Monroe Elementary School at Parkview in Petworth, DC is hosting their Annual Earth Day Block Party and Plant Sale!

  2-5 EVs are needed for this event.  Non-Tesla EVs preferred. Hybrids are also welcome. Owners who would like to show their EV, please contact Sabina Malkani (sabina.malkani@k12.dc.gov) for registration and coordination.

  Sabina is the science teacher at the Bruce-Monroe Elementary school and a Teacher Ambassador for EcoRise.

  It’s an afternoon of family fun, with hands-on exhibits, demonstrations and performances in all fields of science, including Environment & Nature, Space & Astronomy, Reptiles & Birds, Chemistry & Biology, Robotics & Rockets and Electric Vehicles, which will be observing Drive Electric Earth Month

  2025 DC Electric Vehicle Grand Prix

  Help inspire a future generation of electric vehicle engineers and enthusiasts.  The future belongs to them!  Student teams apply engineering, science, and math principles and strategy to construct and race battery powered electric cars. The project also helps improve their understanding of renewable energy technologies and project management while working in a team environment.  Other aspects of the program involve marketing, PR and fundraising as well as logistics planning in preparation for the races.

  The event is on Saturday, May 3, 2025.  Volunteers are also needed for setup on Friday.

  The Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington DC invites EV Drivers, EV Enthusiasts and the EV Curious to attend our Kick Gas! Annapolis EV Showcase. The event will be held on Sunday, May 4, Noon to 3pm, at the Annapolis Mall, in the parking area closest to Jennifer Road and West Street, just off US Route 50.
  

  In addition to showcasing EVs of all types, we are planning informational seminars and will feature information from environmental organizations such as the Maryland Chapter of the Sierra Club, EV-related organizations such as EVADC, and EV-related services and products.
